District 95 should be a community where everyone can do more than just survive. We should be a community where all of our neighbors are thriving. Our federal and state legislatures have built a system that perpetuates and deepens debt for the average Floridian. Neighborhoods and communities are seeing rapid redevelopment that displaces families and makes housing virtually unaffordable. And, people should not have to face a choice in deciding whether to pay their utility bill or purchase their medication.

For these reasons and more, we need uncompromising leadership in the Florida House. That is why I have been and will continue to be committed to fighting for economic equity, our public education system, smart and effective development, and access to affordable healthcare.

  • Florida House District 95 is one of the poorest districts in the State of Florida.
  • It is also a predominantly Black district, with household incomes lower than the average income for Broward county.
  • District 95 should be a community where everyone can do more than just survive. We should be a community where all of our neighbors are thriving.
  • We need leadership that will fight for living wages and affordable housing costs.

  • Our federal and state legislatures have built a system that perpetuates and deepens debt for the average Floridian.
  • Funds are being siphoned from public schools into private and charter schools without appropriate accountability.
  • There’s an obvious inequity in funding, based on which schools are prioritized.

  • House District 95 needs more opportunities for entrepreneurs and small businesses to grow without significant barriers.
  • There is an abundance of immigrant owned small businesses within the District, and the State Legislature should make it more convenient to hire and train skilled workers, while providing more incentives to minority owned businesses.
  • Our District is home to a wealth of public housing. It is the duty of the Legislature to ensure housing remains affordable to our residents.

  • The majority of the municipalities in Florida House District 95 have high rates of people under 65 years old that are uninsured.
  • As a state, Florida also did not expand Medicaid, which limits access to healthcare for millions of people.
  • People should not be forced to choose between their healthcare and the rest of their bills.

  • Everyone has a right to access the healthcare that they need, without significant barriers.
  • The Florida Legislature has continued to cut access and place people in danger.
